Late Mrs.A.M.Kotwal founded Kotwal’s School in 1952. After working for many years in schools and trained under Dr.Maria Montessori, Mrs.Kotwal believed that the Montessori method was the most effective way of educating children in the early and formative years. With limited funds and an enthusiastic husband as her only supporter, Kotwal’s School was able to open with 4 children in her own home in Begumpet.

In 1957 the school moved to a location in Marredpalli and ever since become a monument in her name. Kotwal’s School is a prominent landmark in Marredpalli. By then the student body totaled seventy students.

The Sparsh Education Society was formed and the Board members decided to get the school recognized by the Government of AP and upgrade the intuition and move into a larger building with a professional & corporate ambience. Music, media and physical education specialists joined the faculty. The school is planning to responded to changing family needs by adding an extended day and a summer camp program.

About Sparsh Educational Society

Kotwal’s School recognizes the importance of the partnership between the home and the school. Parents are their children's first teachers and schools need to collaborate with parents in helping them to work with their children at home. Knowing that resources are limited, and the future of our children is a risk, we need the support of the families, the community and the state. We need to open the doors so that positive changes can take place. Communication between the home and school is a critical factor in the success of each individual child at Kotwal’s School thus a Board of members governs Kotwal's School. The Board includes members who are former and present parents as well as friends from the outside community. A committee nominates the members who serve a three-year term. The Board establishes broad goals and overall policies of the school and appoints and evaluates the chief administrator. The Board delegates the management of the school program to the Head of School and once policy has been established does not interfere with the daily operation of the School. Therefore it directs all inquiries to the administration and staff.
